Outdoor navigation is made easier with the use of a compass. Especially, if you are on unfamiliar territory. Sometimes trails circle around, and it is very easy to get confused.
Never head out camping or hiking without a good compass. Familiarize yourself in using the new compass so if the need arises, you are prepared.
