SNUGGLY CAMPING SLEEPING BAGS

SNUGGLY SLEEPING BAGSWhen considering great Camping Sleeping Bags you must consider minimum temperature and fill materials.

Temperature comfort rating is an essential aspect to consider when purchasing a camping sleeping bag. For example, if you are planning to camp in the snow, you absolutely must purchase a sleeping bag rated for at least -10 degrees F. If you’re planning on camping trips to even harsher climates, you’ll need a camping sleeping bag rated much lower. For most camping adventures, a camping sleeping bag rated between 10 and 35 degrees F will give you plenty of comfort.

Camping sleeping bags are usually filled with down or synthetic materials. Each type has its own set of advantages.

  • Down sleeping bags: Made from the undercoats of ducks or geese, these are excellent insulators. They are often lighter than synthetic alternatives and compresses to a smaller size when folded. For the most part, they will outlast synthetic bags.
  • Synthetic sleeping bags: Synthetic fibers are often hollow threads of plastic that trap air for insulation. The advantage of synthetic is that they still work even if they get wet and they also dry fairly quickly. The synthetic bags are usually less expensive than their down counterparts

TERRIFIC BIG AGNES SLEEPING BAGSAre you looking for a premium quality  sleeping bag and sleeping gear, well no further than Big Agnes Sleeping Bags.

The Big Agnes Sleeping Bag system is different than the traditional sleeping bag on top of a sleeping pad. Instead, we unite the two. With Big Agnes, the sleeping pad slides into an integrated sleeve on the bottom of the bag, and the top two-thirds of the bag is insulated in the traditional style.

When insulation material is compressed under your body, it loses most of its ability to insulate. We eliminate the unnecessary bottom insulation and replace it with a sleeve to accommodate the pad which provides the insulation.

This design provides a secure foundation and keeps you on the pad all night. Benefits of the system include: weight savings, reduced packed size, increased girth and comfort and the ability to roll and twist without rolling off your pad or waking to the feel of a zipper across your face.

Adventure Camping and Hiking Gear
Are you like me and sometimes like to just get away by myself, without the phone, TV or the computers?

Sometimes I just like to grab my Camping and Hiking Gear, load it in the truck and hit the road. I drive sometimes for hours until I find a new spot to camp that I haven’t been before.

First I grab my Eureka solo tent, my Slumberjack Sleeping bag and sleeping gear, my cooking gear, camping knivcs, flashlights, compass, my water microfilters for clean water treatment, and lastly my backpack.

Just having the quiet time to myself, is so peaceful. I spend a few days, and come back to my job refreshed ready to take on the world. Give it a try and see if you don’t enjoy the one-on-one with Mother Nature.

When choosing a sleeping bag it is very important to think about what time of year you will be using this sleeping bag and then what is generally the lowest temperature it will be.

It is important that your new Slumberjack Sleeping Bag be warm enough even on the coldest nights.

Secondly, you may choose a sleeping bag with a liner. That way in the summer, you can take the liner out for summer usage.

The third choice you need to make is what type of material you wnat–down or synthetic fill. Both of these choices have pros and cons.  Synthetic filled bags dry quickly, and keep their insulation properties if they get wet, down does not. Down fill bags require more care, but they have a higher warmth to weight ratio.

CAMPING GEAR GUIDE

CAMPING GEAR GUIDEThe type of camping gear necessary depends on the type of trip you have planned.

The best place to start any trip is by making very clean detailed list for your Camping Gear.

We all know the importance of a quality camping tent, sleeping bag, and sleeping pads.

However, by making detailed lists you can make your camping trip as hassle-free as possible. It forces you to think about how will I cook my food? Do I need a tent footprint to protect the tent floor? What types of food will I be cooking, and what kind of cooking gear will I require? What is the best type of compass to take along? On this trip will I need a camp axe or just good quality camping knives?

It is very easy to overlook simple things like a First Aid kit, or a hammer to put in your tent stakes.

Camp lighting is a very important part of camping gear. Using flashlights, lanterns, headlamps, may just save your life in an emergency situation. So be prepared with extra batteries and/or fuel.

And since healthy drinking water is essential, make sure you take along adequate camp drinking water treatments, such as water purifiers, water filters, and purifer tablets to ensure your safe health with clean drinking water.
